The Provincial Centre of Excellence for Early Years and Child Care warmly welcomes you to be part of a critical conversation on early years pedagogies.

The Centre’s vision is founded on the pivotal work being done in the province of Ontario and in Canada to promote the goals of the Multilateral Early Learning and Child Care Framework (Government of Canada, 2017) and The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Report (2015) and carried through in the Ministry of Ontario’s early years curriculum and policy frameworks How Does Learning Happen? (2014) and The Kindergarten Program (2016).

Building from existing strengths and knowledge in the province, the Centre mobilizes the call for transformational change through the proven structure of a province-wide pedagogist network. Through this innovative professional learning design, we are creating early childhood pedagogies that are deeply responsive to the conditions of our times, including that children are unequally situated within social, political, cultural, linguistic, and material lifeworlds.

We invite you to explore this website and our curated resources to learn more about this network and the people who make it up.
