The Provincial Centre of Excellence warmly invites you to its fifth online public Exposure on Wednesday, December 18th from 1:00-3:00PM EST. Poet and educator Cornelia Hoogland, with librarians Linda Bussière and Linda Ludke, will be in conversation on the topic: Thinking and engaging with artistic literary processes in early childhood pedagogies.

Cornelia Hoogland’s eight books of poetry, as well as her plays, memoir and fiction have won prizes. An expert in the fairy tale Red Riding Hood, Hoogland’s full-length play RED and poetry Woods Wolf Girl (short-listed for the ReLit Award for Poetry) as well her fiction and memoir explore the profound impact of fairy tale imagery. Her interests also include narrative inquiry with a focus on artistic forms and processes. Cornelia Hoogland was the 2019 writer-in-residence for both the Al Purdy A-Frame in Ontario and the Whistler Literary Society in British Columbia.

Linda Bussière is a Child & Youth Services Librarian at London Public Library providing outreach literacy supports to families who have barriers to coming into the Library. Linda engages families with storytelling, compelling picture book read alouds, story extension activities, music and movement. Linda loves to ride her bicycle with her trailer to outreach sites. She is grateful for amazing community partners who welcome her into their spaces.

Linda Ludke is a Collections Management Librarian at London Public Library where she is responsible for selecting children and teen materials for the entire library system. In her 29 years at LPL, her focus has been on Children’s Services, and she received the Ontario Public Library Association’s Children’s Librarian of the Year Award in 2009. Linda serves on The Partnership of Provincial and Territorial Library Associations of Canada’s Education Institute committee. She is also a children’s book reviewer for Quill & Quire, School Library Journal and The National Reading Campaign.
